Gaëlle comes from Baelen, a Belgian village close to the German border. She graduated with great distinction in 2016 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Liège. She then carried out a rotating 'internship' Small Animals, followed by an 'internship' Emergency and Intensive Care. In 2018, Gaëlle started a residency (specialization training) in Internal Medicine at the Small Animal Clinic, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Merelbeke (UGent). Her mother language is French, but she can also speak English, German and Dutch fluently.

As part of her 'residency', Gaëlle conducts research on hyperthyroid cats and their owners under the supervision of Professor Sylvie Daminet. The background of the project is explained here for you.

In her spare time, Gaëlle tries to spend as much time as possible with friends and family. She also likes to go for a walk around Ghent or near her home village.
